Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and NGO Federation of Nepal (NFN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 29 May 2022. The objective of the MoU is to increase collaboration between the two civil society networks in the common areas of interest to defend and promote civic space. The MoU has also paved way for working collaboratively for freedom of association, freedom of expression, press freedom, human rights, democracy, and civic participation. Both the organizations wish to increase synergy and effectiveness while working to address issues, concerns and interests of civil society at large. Collaboration will also be made for engagement on law and policy processes, governance, accountability, justice and SDGs. Coordinated action will be made for the long-awaited progressive law related to the CSOs and NGOs. The MoU was signed by Bipul Pokharel, Chairperson of FNJ and Ram Prasad Subedi, Chairperson of NFN, after bilateral talks between FNJ and NFN team. There will be regular meetings and communication to keep the understanding intact.
