NFN Represents Nepal at FfD4 Civil Society Forum

The NGO Federation of Nepal (NFN) proudly participated in the Civil Society Forum held in conjunction with the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), organized in Spain. Mr. Arjun Kumar Bhattarai, President of NFN, represented the organization at this globally significant event, reaffirming NFN’s commitment to amplifying civil society voices in international development dialogues.

The FfD4 Civil Society Forum, an integral component of the broader Financing for Development process, was organized by the Civil Society FfD Mechanism in collaboration with Spanish civil society networks. True to its inclusive spirit, the Forum was open to all interested organizations, regardless of their accreditation status within the UN system. It served as a vital platform to ensure transparency, accountability, and meaningful participation from grassroots to global actors.

A highlight of the closing session was the keynote address by Rt. Hon. KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal and Chairperson of the CPN-UML. Speaking alongside the Vice President of Spain and the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Prime Minister Oli delivered a powerful message acknowledging the indispensable role of civil society as a partner in sustainable development and social transformation.

He underscored the critical contributions of civil society in Nepal’s journey toward political and economic reform, and called for strengthened collaboration in tackling global challenges. Prime Minister Oli also voiced his strong endorsement of the Civil Society Declaration issued during the Forum, urging governments and international institutions to heed the commitments and demands put forth.

NFN’s active presence at the Forum marked a significant contribution to connecting local development efforts with global financing policies.

For NFN, this event marked a meaningful step forward in reinforcing Nepal’s voice in global development platforms and building lasting international solidarity for transformative change.
