Institutional Building
The objective of the Institutional
Development Department (IDD) is to build the capacity
of organizations, particularly NGOs, for improved
organizational good governance. The IDD identifies
the needs of local NGOs, supports them with basic
infrastructure and builds them as information centres.
The major activities of the IDD include:
- Improving the financial,
administrative and personnel policies of NGOs
- Raising both the qualitative
and quantitative membership of NEN
- Ensuring that members comply
with the NEN rules, regulations and NGO CoC
- Developing the infrastructure
of NFN and establishing its own resource centre
in Kathmandu
- Building issue and sector
specific human resources
- Strengthening regional
resource centres and training them in financial,
administrative and personnel policies
- Expanding issue-based programme
divisions and the management of departments in the
regional secretariats
- Strengthening regional
offices with adequate infrastructure and capable
personnel
- Developing self-monitoring
and reflection mechanisms
- Establishing district
level information centres
